Animal Time: Creatures and Connection
Whether you're a proud dog walker, a devoted cat lover, or someone who simply lights up around any animals, there’s something deeply therapeutic about spending time with our four-legged friends. At team immaculate®, we’re big believers in the mood-boosting magic of animal time.
Adventure Walks with Dogs
There’s no better walking companion than a dog with a wagging tail and a love for the outdoors. Whether you’ve got one of your own or borrow a friend’s, heading out for an adventure walk through the park, forest or countryside brings pure, unfiltered joy. Two of our co-founders are big dog people and swear by a long walk and some canine company to reset the mood and clear the head!
Cat Comforts
immaculate® co-founder Lynne however is a cat devotee! There’s something beautifully meditative about being around cats. Their quiet presence, their purring...and their complete ownership of every room they enter! It’s both entertaining and soothing and ever-so-slightly-irritating when they bring lots of little “presents” back! Whether curled up on the sofa or pouncing around the garden, cats invite us to pause and enjoy the moment.
Visit a City Farm or Volunteer with Animals
If you don't have your own pet, there are still lots of opportunities for you to cosy up with animals. If you’re in a city area, seek out a city farm or an animal rescue centre. Spending time with animals in these spaces - feeding, grooming, playing - can provide deep feelings of connection. Many animal centres welcome volunteers, even for short visits, and you’ll leave with your stress levels lowered.
Why It Works
Spending time with animals really does help to regulate our nervous systems. They bring us back to the present, lower our heart rate, and very often make us laugh with their antics. Animals don’t judge, and they don’t expect anything complicated from us, just love... and an endless dose of treats! It’s one of the most natural forms of mindfulness available to us.
