“Blue Monday” happens on the third Monday in January and is sometimes described as the saddest or “bluest” day of the year! The festive season is over, the weather is cold and miserable, we’re all a bit broke and drained…and the resolutions are well and truly bust!

And whilst the bluest day of the year has no clinical basis, the day’s label serves as a useful reminder to check in with yourself and others just to see how everyone is doing. Don’t be blue…have a blue party instead! Gather your friends for the evening and serve up a few pitchers of immaculate® Bluefruit Cooler and some healthy nibbles.

Ingredients

• 50 ml pink grapefruit juice
• 30 ml blueberry (coulis, jam, or muddled fresh blueberries)
• 15 ml gomme or simple sugar syrup*
• 250 ml can of immaculate®
• Glassware: jam jar
• Garnish: fresh berries and a wedge of grapefruit
  
  

Method

1. Shake the * ingredients (grapefruit juice, blueberry and syrup) with ice until chilled.
2. Fill a jam jar with crushed ice and pour in immaculate®.
3. Slowly top with the shaken fruit mixture. If using fresh blueberries, be sure to muddle them first for maximum flavour.
4. Garnish with fresh berries and a grapefruit wedge.
5. Watch the colour bleed through the drink — a show-stopping, instagram-worthy moment!
